A new theme
September 15th, 2007I spent today writing a new WordPress theme for the site. I really don’t know much about the WordPress template system (or css, which always causes me problems…), but it seems to work (other than a wierd offset problem in IE, but it’s pretty minor.) You’ll notice that it’s pretty similar to the old drocket.net setup, what with the green bar. I guess I just like it – dunno why.
Other than that: I’ve mostly been playing WoW. I did also purchase a book about XNA, which I’ve been reading, somewhat. I’ll be posting some information about that, one of these days. I’ve also been playing Picross for the DS. Fun game – again, I’ll post more about that, eventually.

I’m on Alexstraza, Horde side. Mostly been playing my 60 warrior, Rokkok, as well as my 66 (soon-to-be-67) druid Murika. Simon has been playing with me there as well.

Drocket, good to see you are still around. I played WOD years ago and am surfing the web for any telltale signs of the old shard. Looking to get back into UO again, but wanted to get into a wonderful experience like WOD. Just thought I would drop you a note to say I am glad to see that WOD hasn’t completely dropped of the face of the earth. You were the glue that kept it together and the people that played it were the best. Thanks for a great experience then.

Well, your post finally gave me the kick in the butt I needed to do something that’s been on my to-do list since I redid the site, which is set up the old WoD website again. Unfortunately, I’m having some problems with the old forums… #&@^$^ SQL… I’ll have to work on it some more to get the forums running. In the meanwhile, you can see at least some of the site at wod.drocket.net

Are you planning on giving wod a rebirth so to speak? I noticed you are trying to place the wod website up again. I also noticed that on the polserver site that someone has updated the wod scripts to 96 and is in the process of updating them to 97.

No, WoD is long over. There’s no way I could resurrect it, not with the spirit it had (and even if I was going to try, I certainly wouldn’t use POL at this point…) I’m not really sure what exactly I’ll be doings: I’ve been considering some options for single-player games…

Are you going to add back the pol stuff and files that were on here? I was thinking about cking out the pol97 updated wod files and need startup file or something u had on here to put all the doors, merchants, etc back in.
